REILLY CYCLING ADVENTURES will provide a unique Tour de France cycling holiday based in the alpine village of Villard-Reculas, just four kilometers from Alpe d'Huez. Reilly Cycling Adventure holidays are different than any other Tour de France vacation, because we do not chase the Tour around France; we are based in a single, beautiful, comfortable location which provides our guests a unique experience in alpine cycling.
ACCOMMODATION & MEALS at Il Fera Beau Demain
As you can expect with this name (tomorrow the weather will be beautiful) It is nearly always sunny in Villard Reculas - an idyllic authentic little mountain village in the French Alps, situated 1550 meters at the south side of Alpe d'Huez. The area is well-known for skiing and cycling. Our chalet ÔIl Fera Beau Demain' is a charming and comfortable base for your cycling adventure in the Alps. All apartments in Il Fera Beau Demain have television and music centers. Fresh bed linens and towels are provided and will complete your home away from home. Meals will be provided at the Chalet's cozy restaurant, ÔBonsoir Clara', where resident Ôchef de cuisine' Bart Tastenhoye, will prepare our meals with the best local produce.
TOUR DE FRANCE VIEWING
Reilly Cycling Adventure holidays are built around the alpine stages of the Tour de France. We will have the best seat in the house when the Tour arrives at the stage on Alpe d'Huez.
GUIDED CYCLING
Reilly Cycling Adventures offers challenging cycling everyday on the greatest alpine routes of the Tour de France: Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Galibier, Col du Lauteret, Les Deux Alpes, Cold d'Ornon, Col du Telegraphe, Sestrieres, Col d'Izoard, la Berarde, and of course Alpe d'Huez. We ride some or all of these routes every year, regardless of whether or not the Tour de France is using them. All rides are led by our resident professionals and program organizers, Fintan Mc Cormac, Teri Albertazzi, David Weiss and Leonie Wall.
SAG WAGONS & MECHANIC
Reilly Cycling Adventures divides the peloton into faster and slower groups, each of which is supported by its own sag wagon. The sag wagons provide guests with power food, sports drink, and water bottles throughout the cycling day, and are there to bail you out if necessary. RCA has a mechanic to help you build your bike on the first day and break it down on the last.
RCA JERSEY & SWAG
Reilly Cycling Adventure guests receive a free RCA jersey, tee shirt, cap, and unlimited water bottles. Also available at a modest price are RCA wind vests and bib shorts.
OFF THE BIKE
Afternoons are a time to explore the trails around Villard-Reculas, watch the Tour de France on television (we have British Eurosport in English), relax and enjoy a glass of wine, or take photographs of the stunning alpine scenery or practice your French with our bilingual staff and French neighbors.
